Have you been thinking about fitness lately? Great, that's the first step! Here are some tips on how to include workouts in your daily routine.
Starting a fitness journey is really good for your health. Exercising can reduce the risk of disease, help you lose weight, tone your body, improve balance and coordination and even more importantly, improve your sleep habits.
Here are some ways to build your routine
Design your fitness program
- Consider your fitness goals. Are you trying to lose weight, gain muscle. Are you training for a particular sport/race?
- Progress slowly. If you are a beginner, you do not want to dive into things. Try select workouts, see how they work for you.
- Build different exercises daily. Once you have figured out your goal, find exercises that will help assist. Once you have mastered a workout routine. Begin adding more reps/set to your routine.
- Allow time for recovery. Even though workouts will become part of your daily routine, be sure to have rest days in between. This will allow the muscles that you have worked on a cool down period.
- Stay hydrated and listen to your body. If you start feeling unusual, light headed/dizzy or nauseous. This may be a sign that you are pushing yourself too hard. Dial it back a bit and take a break.
